SimplyFun’s Asymbol and Shore Seekers win a Parents’ Picks Award!
Two of SimplyFun’s newest and well-loved games, Asymbol and Shore Seekers, continue to win awards! This time, it’s a Parents’ Picks Award in the ‘Best Products for Elementary Kids 2021’ award category. In order to be an award winner, these products go through a rigorous approval process with over 50 criteria. This criteria includes thinking skills, character building, engagement, ease of use, innovativeness, quality, durability, creative thinking and more.
Why they’re winners
Parents’ Picks Award includes both Asymbol and Shore Seekers as winners because ‘making sure kids are having fun and sparking their creativity will help mold a child’s brain for years to come.’ In addition, they exclaim ‘these products are the best of the best and we are so excited to share them with you!’
How to play Asymbol
Asymbol is not only great for discovering imagination and fostering creativity, it brings out a fun, competitive spirit in the whole family. The goal of Asymbol is to build 3D forms from any number of the 47 wooden shapes included. First, players take turns drawing cards and choosing from one of the two subjects shown. Then, players choose from a variety of unique shapes to assemble their vision while challenging others to guess! Both the correct guesser and builder earn points, and the player with the most points at the end of the game wins. To learn more about Asymbol, check out the blog post here.
How to play Shore Seekers
Shore Seekers utilizes the theme of turtle migration to help engage kids across numerous math levels, from addition to early multiplication. At each turn, players roll one die at a time trying to reach a sum of seven or less. Therefore, they can practice risk, decision making and addition. When a player chooses to roll just one die, the number rolled is how many spaces they will move. If they choose to roll two or three dice (and the sum remains at seven or less), they multiply that sum by the number of dice rolled to equal the number of spaces to move. Players move their turtle around the island collecting cards along the way to determine how many eggs will be in their nest. At the end of the game, the player whose turtle has laid the most eggs wins! It’s a vibrant, fun game that subtly adds elements of learning, which parents will love.
