Ice Tumble is SimplyFun’s Newest Life & Thinking Skills Game! Great for ages 7 and up, and for practicing fine motor skills, spatial reasoning, and physics!

An old Finnish myth claims the northern lights (or the aurora borealis) were caused by a fox sweeping its tail across the snow and ice, sending it up into the heavens, creating waves of rippling colors that sparkle in the night sky. Choose your fox and see how many ice blocks you can carefully stack to create a sculpture. The ice blocks are slippery, so be careful or they could all come tumbling down. You’ll have to use your spatial reasoning and fine motor skills to accomplish this feat!

Every day we use spatial reasoning and fine motor skills to navigate the world around us. For instance, when buttoning up a shirt, we’re coordinating our eyes and small muscles in our fingers. When packing for a vacation we visualize the space in our suitcase needed to pack the things we want to bring. So why not build these skills through play? Ice Tumble is a fun, tactile game and players need a steady hand to both pick up and place the pieces while creating unique sculptures. The ice blocks come in a variety of shapes and sizes and each round presents a new challenge for players to decide which piece to use and how to navigate the evolving structure.

Ice Tumble encourages out-of-the-box thinking as players learn how to visually assess the sculpture to determine where they can place their blocks successfully. If you can add your piece to the tower without the tower falling or any touching the ground, you can place pieces however you like. Balancing stunts and interlocking ice blocks are encouraged! Ice Tumble also helps develop risk management skills. You can place blocks to make it more difficult for your opponents. However, this can compound the challenge for yourself if the sculpture is still standing on your next turn.
