My SimplyFun Commitment
2017 is a new year with new adventures. How do you plan to make 2017 different? How do you plan to make a difference in your family’s life? What about in your life? Playologist Builder, Karen Hagerty, is recommitting herself to her SimplyFun business in the new year. Below, she shares her goals for her business and her family.
- How long have you been a Playologist with SimplyFun?
My Starter Kit arrived on July 24, 2015.
- What made you decide to become a Playologist?
My good friend of 15 years Sara Yezefski played a major role in my decision. She called to tell me about how amazing SimplyFun is and she knew that I should be a part of it. She asked if I would host a party and check things out while she was here. I was more than willing and very excited to learn more about the amazing games and this new company that helped her family so much. We played a TON of games with the kids. I just fell in love with them and was hooked. The bonus was possible income and all of the extra incentives, especially since our family was not in a good financial place. Sara got me all set up and now I’m running my own business.
- What makes being a Playologist so gratifying for you?
There are so many different aspects of being a Playologist that are rewarding. First and foremost, the quality of our family life has improved. I have three boys with special needs, so things can get quite chaotic here. Having my own business has helped me learn to make time for myself, have more structure in our daily events and schedule, and it also allows me to continue to go-with-the-flow and keep my family as my first priority.
- We understand that you have recommitted to your business and that you are working on achieving your Path to Success goals. Can you tell us a little bit more about that?
When I first started as a Playologist, it was not at all an ideal time for our family. We had just moved; my oldest, Orrie, had been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder; my middle-man, Caleb, was diagnosed with severe allergies, SPD and anxiety disorder and we were pretty certain our youngest, Treyton, was also on the spectrum. So I thought, sure, what a great time to start something I have no idea how to do! All joking aside, it kept me going. Even though I didn’t meet a single goal on the Path to Success, I was not going to give up. I then started meeting families in similar situations as mine. I was connecting and helping other families. This made me realize that I knew I had made the right choice, I just needed to start fresh and do it right this time.
- How do you plan on achieving these goals and fulfilling your commitment?
I have learned from Sara how important it is to set realistic goals and stick to them. With her support as well as everyone in the SimplyFun family, all I have to do is be myself, use my time effectively, and just keep trying.
- What resources do you find the most helpful when running your own business and reaching your goals? Your upline? The home office? Training material?
I use all of the resources, especially my upline. When I first started, I watched every training video there was. I still watch them to keep them fresh in my memory. Unfortunately, I have learned the most from the many, many mistakes I have made. It is really rewarding to have so much support to move forward after making mistakes.
- What motivates you the most to succeed in your business?
My children and my husband are my biggest motivators. I see how proud they are of me with my successes and they share in my excitement and passion with what I do. My son, Caleb, goes to almost every vendor event with me. My son, Trey, already has a goal to be a Playologist when he grows up.
- What are you looking forward to the most once you achieve your 2017 goals?
I will have to admit, it will be nice to earn more money and not have as much of a burden of financial stress.
- What would you say to someone who is considering an entrepreneurial opportunity in direct selling?
I would tell them to try it! They would have nothing to lose and everything to gain. It is quite an adventure, but if I can make it work with my crazy travelling circus of a family, anyone can.
- Okay we have to ask… what’s your favorite game and why?
My all-time favorite game is Bee Alert. It is truly an ageless game. I have played it with 2-year old’s to 95-year old’s. I never get tired of playing it. I believe it has helped improve my concentration and memory. It has definitely brought me so much joy.
- Any final words?
I am so very thankful to be part of a company that feels like a family. Becoming a Playologist was one of the best decisions of my life. I can’t wait to see what the next year will bring.
