We are proud to announce that Mirror Mansion has been chosen as the National Association for Gifted Children, Parenting for High Potential 2011 Award Winner! In Mirror Mansion, players use mirrors, exploring every nook and cranny, to find the treasures that are hidden in the game. Children learn about angles, early geometry and the science of reflection.
Each year, the National Association of Gifted Children invites toy and game manufacturers to submit their newest products for review by students. One hundred and seven toys and games were received for the 2011 hands-on trials.
Students analyzed the games or toys they selected to play and completed an extensive feedback packet that included questions about initial appeal, interest-level, attention holding, and desire to replay. The final question was, “Would you buy this toy/game with your own money?” For Mirror Mansion, the resounding answer was "Yes!"
For over 50 years, NAGC has worked to increase public awareness and to affect positive change. Thus, NAGC invests all of its resources to train teachers, encourage parents and educate administrators and policymakers on how to develop and support gifted children and what's at stake if high-potential learners are not challenged and encouraged.
